John Pederson Ends His Candidacy for U.S. Congress
SAINT CLOUD, MN – January 3, 2014 – Candidate for Congress and State Senator John Pederson has announced that he will no longer seek Minnesota’s Sixth District Office for U.S. Congress. His campaign has immediately terminated all activity.
“This decision weighed heavily on me and my family, and was made after much reflection and consideration. The priorities in my life have always been my faith, family and friends, my co-workers, and the wider community. It has become apparent to me that I cannot continue this campaign and still balance my other priorities in life. Because of this conflict I have decided to withdraw my name from the race.” said Pederson.
Pederson continued to work his full-time private-sector job in addition to serving as State Senator throughout his campaign for Congress.
“I would like to thank all of my supporters. This decision is a personal choice, and is in no way a reflection upon the countless contributors and volunteers who have helped me these past six months.” said Pederson.
Pederson will continue to serve central Minnesota as the State Senator of the St. Cloud, Waite Park, and St. Augusta area.
“My campaign’s focus has been about unifying coalitions of citizens - from all walks of life - to put our country back on a path to prosperity. My message of hard work and fiscal responsibility is one I believe resonates with the majority of Minnesotans, and I am confident the 2014 elections will show this to be true.”
